The Florida Keys

Our annual pilgrimage to the Florida Keys is coming up. I can’t wait to cross all those bridges over the Atlantic and the Gulf of Mexico, where the waters are a thousand shades of turquoise, and roll down the windows to catch that salty breeze. There’s no place I’d rather be.Bahia HondaWe’ll hang out with the key deer on Big Pine Key.key deerWe’ll dive and fish.IMG_3519And when it’s too windy for the boat, we’ll drive to Key West.key west streetKey West is the capital of the Conch Republic, a place where Florida reaches toward the tropics to form a world of its own.  You’ll find Southern charm on wide porches surrounded by beautiful gardens and a Caribbean vibe in a riot of color, flavor, and music.  keywestgardenOver the next week I’ve got some Keys-inspired recipes for you, and next month I’ll share some photos of our trip.

Thanks to Florida Keys & Key West for sponsoring this post.
